· Early Bird Registration Deadline – August 29.
· For Brokers Only, Thursday, September 11, 1:30 p.m. – Chris Polychron, NAR Member Mobilization Chair, will explain NAR’s new Broker Involvement Program a way to get brokers to encourage their agents to respond to NAR’s Calls for Action, and thus strengthen the REALTOR® Voice on NAR issues.
- RANM Bylaws amendments will be voted on during the RANM Annual Meeting, Friday, September 12, 2008, at 1:15 p.m. The red-lined version, including rationale, of the proposed changes to RANM bylaws is posted at nmrealtor.com. Proposed amendments were drafted by the RANM Bylaws Committee and presented to the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee concurs with all proposed changes as posted.
- All 2009 Officers and Directors will be installed during Friday’s President’s Banquet.
- Committee meeting time changes – Executive Committee 2:30 – 3:30 pm Wednesday; Forms Committee 3:00-5:00 pm Wednesday.
- ZipForm Training – “Online Basics” (beginning training) Thursday at 1:30 pm; “Online Tricks” (advanced training) Thursday at 3:15 pm.
- NAR Code of Ethics Enforcement – This CE class will be held Saturday as part of your conference registration – if you registered for full conference and did not indicate attendance at this class but plan to attend, please contact Margaret Rivera.

Family Carnival for RPAC-
September 11
As part of the RANM conference at Sandia Resort in Albuquerque, the host association (Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS®) is holding a fun RPAC event for all members of the family – a carnival! Admission is free. Make a splash with the dunk tank (Steve Anaya, Cathy Olson, George Lowes and Sandylee Pasquale dare you to get them wet), Ring the Bell, face painting, karaoke, and LOTS more. The Nominating Committee is seeking qualified candidates to run for the positions of President-Elect, Treasurer, Northwest District Vice President, and Southeast District Vice President. NMREC Rules Task Force Meetings Scheduled
The Real Estate Commission Rules Task Force invites real estate brokers to participate in five meetings being conducted in preparation for a planned December 1, 2008 rule filing. Meetings will be held August 27, 2-5 pm; September 8, 2-5 pm; September 9, 9 am-1 pm; September 26, 9 am-1 pm; and November 11, 9 am-1 pm. All meetings will be held at the Real Estate Commission offices, 5200 Oakland Avenue NE, Albuquerque. Questions? Contact Commission Executive Secretary Wayne Ciddio at wayne.ciddio@state.nm.us.

President Declares Major Disaster for New Mexico
The head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced last week that federal disaster aid has been made available for New Mexico to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe storms and flooding beginning on July 26, 2008, and continuing.
